Hi, my name is Mirjana — a mom of two and the founder of My Gift Hint.
Over the years I've watched the gifting dance from both sides — birthday parties, Christmas mornings, baby showers, and "just because" surprises. And I kept seeing the same thing: kids opening presents they already had, didn't need, or wouldn't use. As a giver, I struggled with guessing — I wanted to buy something they genuinely wanted and would actually use. Lovely intentions, but wasted money, wasted time, and a pile of clutter no one asked for.
I started My Gift Hint because I believe gifting should feel good for everyone — the giver, the receiver, and the planet. When we know exactly what someone wants, we buy once, buy right, and skip the landfill. We still need things, and gifts bring real joy. I simply want more of them to be loved and used — respecting people's money, time and energy as well as the materials that went into making them.

What we do
My Gift Hint helps families create playful profiles, save favorite things, and share exact gift hints with a single link. Guests don't need an account. They just open the list, see what's on it, and if it suits them, choose something — which they can buy via the link or in person.
It works for birthdays, baby showers, Christmas, christenings, graduations — or no occasion at all. Use it as a running gift list of things you genuinely want over the year, then share the link whenever someone asks, "What would they like?" And it doesn't just have to be boxed toys from a shop — you can point guests toward an experience, a savings fund for a big milestone, or a charity your family loves.
How we put that belief into practice
Exact hints, photos and shop links help guests choose the right thing. Claims help stop doubled-up gifts. One shared guest link reduces back-and-forth and makes it easier to buy with confidence. Together, those small choices can mean fewer unnecessary purchases, returns, deliveries and forgotten things gathering dust.
My Gift Hint cannot make every purchase sustainable, and we will never pretend it can. What it can do is help families give more thoughtfully and direct their resources toward gifts that are genuinely wanted.
